Katie Hill, Ph.D.
Associate Director of Programs
Katie Hill serves as the Associate Director of Programs at the National Council for Community and Education Partnerships (NCCEP), and is responsible for supporting program initiatives, particularly for the Gaining Early Awareness and Readiness for Undergraduate Programs (GEAR UP) grant. Before joining NCCEP, Dr. Hill was a Graduate Research Assistant at the University of Nevada, Reno (UNR), for the Nevada GEAR UP grant from 2011-2016. While at UNR, she was responsible for quantitative and qualitative data collection and analysis for Nevada GEAR UP. Dr. Hill completed her Doctorate of Philosophy in Education with an emphasis in Educational Leadership from UNR in May, 2016. She holds a Bachelor of Arts in Psychology from the University of Nevada, Las Vegas, and a Master of Arts in Educational Leadership from UNR.
Dr. Hill is a GEAR UP alumni from McDermitt High School, where she graduated with the first Nevada GEAR UP cohort. While in high school, she was active in the GEAR UP program locally and nationally. During her graduate studies at UNR, Dr. Hill was part of the first GEAR UP Alumni Leadership Academy (GUALA) cohort in 2013-2014, and served as a Team Leader for the 2014-2015 cohort. She also completed a graduate fellowship in government relations with NCCEP during the spring semester of 2015 as part of her graduate studies. Dr. Hill is thrilled to contribute to the professional learning of GEAR UP professionals so that other students, like her, have the support they need to enter and succeed in a postsecondary education.
