Since 2008, Career & College Clubs has helped educators at more than 370 schools across the nation increase the odds of college enrollment. A 2015 study by ACT found that Career & College Clubs increased the odds of college enrollment by 85%.
The program curriculum is based on 7 – 12 grade career and college readiness standards developed by NCCEP. Informed by the ACT® Holistic Framework™ , each grade level contains sequenced lessons and activities in five, research-supported domains:
- College and Career Preparation and Readiness.
- Academic Preparation.
- Leadership Development.
- Social and Emotional Learning.
- Professional Etiquette.
Career & College Clubs employs peer-to-peer learning, a model that requires students in the Club to teach the material to each other, then educate their peers not in the Club. This process promotes engagement and develops critical social-emotional skills.
Aligned with GEAR UP
While not exclusively for GEAR UP programs, Career & College Clubs furthers the required activities for GEAR UP grants. Career & College Clubs is ideal for GEAR UP programs (and others) seeking research-based content proven to have an impact.
Career & College Clubs is a National Council for Community and Education Partnerships (“NCCEP”) program, founded and supported by ALL Management Corporation.
