Community Leadership
Carrying out our mission involves engaging the voices, listening to the input, and establishing the leadership of GEAR UP professionals. Our community is rich in real-world expertise that can be harnessed for the greater good. To this end, NCCEP created opportunities to elevate GEAR UP colleagues for input, feedback, and ideas.
Join an NCCEP Committee
NCCEP committees consist of a diverse group of volunteer members that help engage the community, share their expertise for professional development, and offer input to NCCEP on programs and services. Applicants should be NCCEP members and have experience with both GEAR UP and the topic.
Most committees meet monthly via Zoom. Committee members contribute 1 – 2 hours per month over a 2-year term, from October 1 to September 30.
GEAR UP Advisory Commission
Comprised of GEAR UP directors, the invitation-only GEAR UP Advisory Commission offers guidance, knowledge, and insights to help ensure NCCEP meets the needs of GEAR UP grantees nationally.
Communications Committee
To accelerate the goal of mobilizing our communities around GEAR UP, the Communications Advisory Committee supports and guides communications strategies to leverage our collective voice for national impact.
Family Engagement Committee
Harnessing the expertise of its members, the Family Engagement Advisory Committee collectively brainstorms and identifies resources, tools, and information to support family engagement for all.
CCREC Committees
The College and Career Readiness Evaluation Consortium (CCREC) utilizes committee leadership to strengthen GEAR UP’s culture and commitment to evidence-based practices.
CCREC Executive Committee
With the input of thoughtful GEAR UP leaders, the Executive Committee guides the overall work of CCREC, providing critical information, insights, and recommendations.
CCREC Research AND Evaluation Committee
To better evaluate GEAR UP programs individually and collectively, the CCREC Research and Evaluation Committee supports defining GEAR UP services and creating strong and sustainable evaluation practices.
CCREC Communications Committee
Ensuring that research and evaluation is shared, the CCREC Communications Committee supports initiatives to share information about research and evaluation in GEAR UP, with a focus on collective impact.
