Dana Beck

Director of Practice

As the Director of Practice at the National Council for Community and Education Partnerships (NCCEP), Dana Beck leads the organization’s strategy to identify, define, and disseminate promising college and career readiness and success practices among the GEAR UP community. 

Previously, she served as a program manager in charge of communications for Oregon GEAR UP. During her decade-long tenure, Dana created practical resources for educators and students including toolkits, guides, and templates used across the state and nationwide. She also honed her presentation and facilitation skills, leading engaging in-person and virtual professional development sessions at state, regional and national conferences.

She served on the Board of Directors for the Oregon College Access Network from 2012-2015 and participated in the national GEAR UP Communications Advisory Group led by NCCEP from 2016-2021. Dana’s other previous roles include the Precollege Programs coordinator for Oregon State University, the marketing director of a summer camp, a substitute teacher and a freelance writer and consultant.

Dana holds a B.A. from Wesleyan University and an Ed.M. from Oregon State University. She lives in Portland, Oregon.
