Associate Director of Government Relations
Emily Jeffries serves as the Associate Director of Government Relations at the National Council for Community and Education Partnerships (NCCEP), and is responsible for supporting policy and advocacy efforts in support of the organization’s mission and specifically, the federally-funded Gaining Early Awareness and Readiness for Undergraduate Programs (GEAR UP) grant.
Before joining NCCEP, she was the GEAR UP Ambassador at the University of Nevada, Reno (UNR), and a graduate Assistant for the program from 2015-2017. While at UNR, she was responsible for programming and outreach for the UNR GEAR UP program. Emily completed her Master of Arts in Counseling and Educational Psychology with an emphasis in School Counseling from UNR in May, 2017. She holds a Bachelor of Arts in Criminal Justice from the University of Nevada, Las Vegas.
Emily is a GEAR UP alumna from Earl Wooster High School in Reno, Nevada, where she graduated with the second Nevada GEAR UP cohort. During her undergraduate studies at UNLV, Emily was a member of NCCEP’s GEAR UP Alumni Leadership Academy (GUALA) cohort in 2014-2015. Emily is thrilled to contribute to the professional learning of GEAR UP professionals so that all students have the support they need to enter and succeed in a postsecondary education.
