National Council for Community and Education Partnerships

NCCEP/GEAR UP Annual Conference

July 14-17, 2019 / San Francisco, CA

The way of the equity warrior is fraught with challenges. It’s not for everyone. Yet day in and day out, you persevere. Advancing purposefully, leading by example, and adhering to a code that embodies the very best of who we are. The 2019 Annual Conference is a unique forum where we share, learn, and celebrate the shared journey we are on in service of students and families.

What to Expect

Concurrent Sessions

The conference program includes over 100 concurrent sessions focused on increasing your impact on middle and high school students, their families, K–16 faculty and administrators, student services and college access professionals, program evaluators, family engagement coordinators, business and community partners, and education policy makers. Sessions will include panels of experts, researchers, practitioners, how-to presentations, program evaluation presentations, and descriptions of the most effective GEAR UP practices.

Plenary Sessions

Plenary sessions serve as the core of the conference curriculum and are designed to provide the context for concurrent session dialogues. Plenary sessions will feature nationally recognized individuals in the field of education and workforce development, as well as education policy makers, political appointees, philanthropists, business leaders, and others who champion the cause of improving public education and making postsecondary education more accessible to underrepresented communities.
