SREB’s College and Career Counseling Initiative (CCCI) is a nationallyrecognized program that supports school counselors who work with low-income and “first-in-the-family” college students. CCCI provides professional development modules for middle grades and high school GEAR UP staff, school counselors, administrators, and teachers. This session will provide an overview of the research used to build the training and the key content covered by the training, and how the program can be customized, scaled, and sustained statewide. Arizona, Oklahoma and North Carolina representatives will demonstrate how the curriculum can build a sustainable college-going culture and practice in GEAR UP schools.
