A key component of GEAR UP success is rigorous evaluation. How do GEAR UP programs know what is working during and after program implementation? Education Policy Initiative at Carolina (EPIC) researchers will provide an overview of the GEAR UP NC rigorous research design measuring successful student interventions. We will discuss the process of creating a longitudinal research plan that encompasses data from both quantitative and qualitative sources. Initial results from the longitudinal research will be shared. The GEAR UP NC state director will highlight a data dashboard useful for school leadership in data driven decision-making for improved student outcomes.
