Concurrent Session #99 (Tuesday, July 22, 2014)
Based on the premise that middle and high school students would complete learning objectives and steps toward college readiness at a higher rate if both were "incentivized," we have, for the past six years, used a token economy as an essential component of our GEAR UP partnership program. We will present a unique, data-based narrative of interest to both educators and parents, and that has the potential to be useful to other GEAR UP programs. Attendees will learn how our program works, see evidence of its effectiveness, and engage in a dialogue about the specifics of our program.
