Concurrent Session #66 (Tuesday, July 22, 2014)

Grant Management

Serving hundreds or thousands of GEAR UP students, parents and teachers across multiple schools can prove challenging.  But by building capacity through staff development, grant partnerships can effectively prepare staff to serve as the frontline in our schools, through a common mission and shared strategies for implementing activities. Session participants will learn about and experience for themselves the comprehensive staff development plan developed by the Chicago GEAR UP Alliance, which arms staff across roles (i.e., tutors, student and parent advocates, coaches, etc) with the knowledge, skills and strategies they need to be highly effective in executing the work plan.
