Concurrent Session #51 (Monday, July 21, 2014)

High Need

From identification through evaluation, GEAR UP 4 L.A. successfully helped long-term English Language Learners reclassify into mainstream english courses. Participants will learn about our processes for examining data to identify student barriers to reclassification, structuring services according to students' needs, and ongoing analysis of outcomes. We will also review how counseling and intensive interventions helped inform, motivate, and academically support students as they navigated the process for reclassification.
