Concurrent Session #35 (Monday, July 21, 2014)
Every year, more than two million students begin college in the US. Barely half will ever finish. Many more will never even try. It doesn't have to be that way, especially if "fit" and focus are at the core of student-centered advising. In this session, participants will learn how to help students identify their priorities and plot action steps for achieving them, gain insight into the three basic questions admission officers ask of candidates, and develop strategies to promote self-advocacy in the admission process.
