Concurrent Session #128 (Wednesday, July 23, 2014)
Research shows technology is a great teaching tool to be used to engage the learner in activities that draw on information they already know in order to address challenges and solve problems (Bransford, Brown, & Cocking, 2000). Focusing on using apps and online activities that promote a college going culture, this interactive session will provide benefits and a framework on how to incorporate technology in your GEAR UP programs. We will provide scaffolding and considerations on how to implement the use of apps and online activities to engage audiences including teachers, students, counselors, and parents.
