As you may know, the Board of Directors has been working diligently to lead a national search for the next President and CEO for the National Council for Community and Education Partnerships (NCCEP). We heard from our constituents, external thought leaders, and the NCCEP staff about the specific types of skills, experiences, and leadership characteristics required to lead the organization through the next stage of its development.
As you can imagine, leading NCCEP is no simple task. We agreed that we needed a leader that was well respected in the education field, fluent in public policy and advocacy, adept in fundraising, and possessed a proven track record of successfully leading organizations and staff towards productive outcomes. Most importantly, as a Board we also felt strongly that we needed a leader that not only deeply understood GEAR UP, but had the ability to galvanize and strengthen our community as well.
With that background, it is my pleasure to announce that we have asked Ranjit Sidhu to serve in the President and CEO role on a permanent basis and that he has enthusiastically accepted. Ranjit is certainly no stranger to GEAR UP or the broader education landscape. As a former Senior Vice President at ACT, Inc. and the College Board, he brings a broad array of leadership skills that will enable NCCEP to improve its services, influence, and impact on our mission. Further, as a former Executive Vice President at NCCEP and member of the NCCEP Board of Directors, his experience with the organization and GEAR UP is second to none.
I speak for all of us on the Board in expressing that we are absolutely thrilled that Ranjit has accepted the position. His vision for the organization, his passion for our mission, and his focus on excellence will serve NCCEP and the communities we serve very well for years to come.
Please join me in welcoming Ranjit and we look forward to seeing you all in San Francisco!
