
GEAR UP Grant Administration: Strategies for Managing Strong GEAR UP
Projects
This workshop is designed to provide GEAR UP directors and staff with
a deeper understanding of how to more effectively administer their GEAR
UP grant(s). The curriculum provides participants with insight into
compliance and implementation issues and a forum for discussing
strategies to maximize their grant administration capacity. The workshop
is structured to:
- Present an overview of the GEAR UP program, its theory of change,
and lessons learned from the implementation of the program.
- Explain the administrative regulations, statutes and requirements of
the GEAR UP program.
- Explore the varied roles of GEAR UP professionals, including the
characteristics of effective GEAR UP leadership and administration.
- Provide opportunities for attendees to learn and develop effective
management strategies for the development of their GEAR UP project.
- Discuss common GEAR UP challenges and strategies that maximize
project effectiveness and efficiency.
The Grant Administation Workshop is appropriate
for:
- GEAR UP directors and program staff who have administrative
responsibilities for the grant.
- GEAR UP staff seeking a refresher on the do's and don'ts of grant
administration.
