GEAR UP 2011 Partnership and State Grant
Competition
- NCCEP Presents "Writing a GEAR UP Grant Proposal Webinar
Series"
GEAR UP has proven to be effective at empowering youth to become
academically prepared to enter into and succeed in postsecondary
education. Because of this, more and more communities have realized the
many benefits of having a GEAR UP grant in their community. With the new
competition about to be announced, many more people will be applying for
a GEAR UP grant, making the process even more competitive.
What does the new RFP look like? What is NEW in this competition? How
can you strategically address the competitive priorities, invitational
priority, performance measures, and selection criteria in order to
develop a competitive proposal? What are some of the permissible
activities and what are the required activities? What about the optional
7th year?
NCCEP will be delivering two webinars on writing a competitive proposal:
one webinar is designed for partnership grant applicants, and the other
for state grant applicants. Both webinars have been designed to help you
develop a strong proposal and will be led by seasoned GEAR UP
professionals, providing you access to experienced facilitators and
their experiences in writing and managing an effective GEAR UP
program(s). Current grantees can use program funds to attend the
webinars as they are an allowable expense for training. Please direct
questions concerning the webinar to Allan Jimenez
