A paying job isn’t the only way to get great work experience. Volunteering is another way to learn a lot and give back to your community. your volunteer experience will be a great thing to add to your college applications, too.

You can volunteer just about anywhere. Hospitals, churches, zoos, schools, arts organizations, and homeless shelters are just a few places to volunteer. Or, you can be more strategic. For example, think of careers that you would like to learn more about, and look for volunteer opportunities in those fields.
